I have been practicing law since I was called to the bar in Alberta in 1993 and in British Columbia since 1995 and have always had a special focus on family law. In 1997, I completed my training as a family law mediator and in 2000, I completed my collaborative family law training. I have also concluded the mediation practicum through the BC Provincial Court program. I have worked as Director’s counsel and as parent’s counsel in child protection matters, as well as being counsel for the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program, and as Family Duty Counsel in various courts. Since 2007, I have also been a part-time member of the faculty teaching future paralegals at Capilano University.
I am fluent in French and German languages and am an active member of the francophone community. I enjoy my volunteer work as well as assisting clients in their own language.
I have worked with a focus on family law and my experience from a broad range of perspectives has led me to believe that the best solutions to disputes between people are found by negotiating and working together, especially where children are concerned. I find that the collaborative process is extremely beneficial in easing the stresses of separation and divorce and in resolving disputes positively.
